Street riders ask us all the time:
“What happens when I remove my tankgrips? Will it damage the paint or plastics on my bike?”
The short answer: No, Stompgrip is designed to stay secure when you need it and come off clean when you're ready for a new set.
To show exactly how easy it is, we filmed a step-by-step uninstall video specifically for street bikes.
What the Video Covers:
- How to properly peel off yourtankgrips
- Removing tankgrips without damaging paint, plastics, or factory graphics
- Prepping the surface for your next set of grips
A Few Removal Tips:
Use a heat gun or hairdryer to gently warm the edges of the grip pad. This softens the adhesive and allows you to lift it cleanly without pulling on the surface underneath. Work slowly and steadily. Most tankgrips come off in one piece with minimal effort.
Once removed, you may notice a small amount of adhesive residue, which can be wiped off easily with isopropyl alcohol or any plastic-safe cleaner.
No Damage, No Hassle
Our tankgrips are made with high-quality adhesive that won’t harm OEM paint, clear coat, or plastics. Whether you're riding a sportbike, naked, or touring setup, you can uninstall your grips confidently.
